Whew! I am exhausted, but usually that means it has been a really good day, so I am really, really exhausted!
The kids and I headed to Raleigh this morning to spend the day with Jill and Addison. We dressed the kids like pirates and headed to Krispy Kreme for our free doughnuts in honor of International Talk Like a Pirate Day. We left with 3 dozen FREE doughnuts! Is that awesome or what?
Jill and I didn’t dress like pirates, but we did say “Ahoy, matey” for our free doughnut!

Charlie was practicing saying “Aaaaaarrrgghhh!” It’s hard to do with a mouthful of free doughnut!
Addison the sweet little baby pirate. She wore an eye patch for a few minutes-long enough to get a free dozen doughnuts!
Did I mention that we got free doughnuts? That somehow made them even tastier.
After that, we journeyed on to Pullen Park. We had a picnic lunch and spent a wonderful day playing on the wonderful playground there, then rode the train before we left.
I have so many great pictures from our time spent here. It is really hard for me to choose which ones to share!

Now, I know you are wondering, what does the Pope have to do with any of this? Well, while were were having lunch, Amanda Lamb, a reporter from WRAL, came up to us to see if we would be willing to answer any questions concerning the Pope’s comments this morning.
Well, of course I had something to say!
And, honestly, I have much more to say on this topic, but I’ll save that for another post!

Guess what I would like to know everything about Krispy Kreme because it fascinates me! I will explain what I mean…. We just came back from Bangkok and people are willing to stand in very, very long ques to get their hands on some Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Thais in general love to dress up so Krispy Kreme would have went bankrupt if they would have had a pirate theme like in your town… where are you exactly? HAHA
People in Bangkok buy tons of KK doughnuts and they re-sell them. We had a receptionist at the hotel my husband runs beg for us to bring some for her back to the island we live on. And we did because we are nice people. 😛
Do you think Addison has a personality? Someone asked me this question on my blog about Zoárd. I am not sure. I think parents tend to project a lot on their children and we are no exceptions. If I would see other babies Zoárd’s age than I could tell better what is baby like and what is something typical only for Zoárd. Do you see my point? I have no one to compare Zoárd with since we are so isolated and even though all websites put an emphases on how individual all babies are, there are still tons of things that babies do all over the world. Like making this cute face that you captured Addison doing. Babies luckily do entertain us with this facial expression so it is not only typical for your baby. I would have not known this if I haven’t researched on it in google. Look at the second picture, please..
I love tutus! Is this an everyday where for you guys? So cool!

Hi Eszter! I live near Raleigh, NC. There were tons of people, mostly moms and their kids, at the Krispy Kreme yesterday. Krispy Kreme was founded in Winston-Salem, which is only about an hour from where I live. The doughnuts are awesome. We are having some for breakfast right now!
How could you buy some for someone and not try any? Next time, you have to sample one!
In response to your second question, I definitely think babies have personality. Addison is my niece and I am not around her every day, but I can tell from the times I am around her that she definitely does.
I can tell you from having 2 children of my own that babies do have distinct personalities. Charlie and Maddie are very different, and I could tell right away that they were. Charlie is sweeter and quieter and more loving and considerate. Maddie is very outspoken and impatient and a little mean! I have been able to see these things from the time they were just very little.
What is Zoard’s personality like?
And yes, Maddie does wear a tutu quite often! My sister makes them.

I am looking at the words you used to describe Charlie and Maddie. I am still a bit uncertain about Zoárd’s “personality”. He likes to engage with us and tends to ignore those who are not to his liking. So in our eyes he is definitely loving and sweet though maybe others would not see this in his personality. He is a good-looking baby so he attracts people. Especially here in Thailand. He is very much used to people taking pictures with him and asking to hold him. He tolerates all this but I would not say he is a quiet baby. He has a special relationship towards music and books. Maybe all babies do. 🙂

It only bothers me when I know the person has no clue what Zoárd’s body language is saying.
The situation is not always better when he is in my arms. Many times when I hold him they come up to me and pull on his legs and sometimes they pinch his nipples. I am not crazy about any of these even if it is a “cultural thing”…
